Our exclusive DJ Set for returning Olympic Athletes
Ministry of DJs Entertainment hosted a special live stream gig for our returning Australian Olympians currently in Quarantine, connecting everyone from Howard Springs to Sydney and Brisbane.
This virtual event was themed ‘Toga Dance Party’, and gave the Athletes the chance to celebrate all their achievements while enjoying the tracks played by DJ Andy Kay of Ministry of DJs Entertainment, from the comfort of their hotel rooms.
The interactive production gave Olympians the chance to request their favourite songs during the party while engaging with their team mates in other room.
DJ Andy Kay mixed up a storm squeezing 32 requests into his 90-minute set. The most popular songs of the night were Australian anthems such as Daryl Braithwaite’s ‘The horses’, Johnny Farnham’s ‘You’re the voice’, and Men at Works’ classic ‘Down Under’. The full track list in order of songs played can be found by clicking below:
Andy said: “It was an absolute privilege to put on this event for all the athletes returning from Tokyo to celebrate all their hard work and success at the Olympics. They really got into the toga theme and their dance moves were just as good as their sporting prowess!”
The official mascot of the team ‘BK’ (Boxing Kangaroo) also made an appearance from his quarantine room in Brisbane after returning home from Tokyo only days ago.
Feedback from some of our Olympians who attended include:
‘Highlight of my quarantine, thank you!!!’
(Australian Olympian, Swimming)
‘Absolutely the best, thank you for the best night. Exactly what I needed’
(Australian Olympian, Gymnastics)
This feel good story was also heavily featured the next morning on Channel 7’s ‘Sunrise’
